Janis Fuhr received her B.A. cum laude from Cal State University Long Beach, and then taught music in the Long Beach Unified School District for 5 years.  She has played first violin with the Long Beach Symphony, the Compton Symphony, the Westside Symphony, and the Eugene (Oregon) Symphony.  In that capacity, she has also performed at the Hindemuth Festival, with the Oregon Mozart Players and the Oregon Bach Festival. 

 

Ms. Fuhr recently retired from the Temecula Valley Unified School District where she was the orchestra director at Margarita Middle School and Temecula Valley High School in Temecula and teaches beginning strings at Temecula and Rancho Elementary Schools.  Janis' string orchestras consistently were awarded top honors in state and national festivals.
